My students are nestled in between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Foothills of North Carolina. They are in a very rural community that was detrimentally affected by the fallout of the economy in 2008. This once overpopulated school is now trying to flourish with what students and families that are left. What was once a major manufacturing town, is now dwindling and succumbing to the lack of employment opportunities and migration of workers to bigger cities.
The students that attend this school are of a unique kind.
They are sweet and determined to succeed. Best of all, they are appreciative. Many of these students come from homes that don't have everything that they need which is why we would like to provide them with a classroom that does. By funding this project, you will be helping students have hands-on tools that will further their education and help them to succeed to the next level.
With this iPad, I will be able to work out live problems, hand the iPad off to students for them to show their work and do live walkthroughs of their work during each lesson. Seeing your work on the board for the class to see is truly something special! With this device, I will be able to download applications that will help interact with my new Apple TV with ease. The mobility of the iPad will give me the freedom to move about my classroom and check-in with more students to help ensure understanding from ALL of my students rather than just some of them.
