Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have students who will be applying for the AP Studio Art Drawing course, which is a college level course taught in high school. These students need to have the proper materials in order to create high quality artwork. They attend an art school that does not have enough funds for art supplies.
These students are extremely talented and just need some art supplies to create their artwork.
They live in a very low-income neighborhood. They do not have enough money to pay for resources like art supplies. Many of the students are interested in becoming an Art Major in college.
My Project
My students need the watercolor pans, oil pastels, micron pens, bristol paper, acrylic paper, acrylic paint sets, and other quality art materials to work with. They will be creating 24 artworks total for the AP portfolio test over the course of a year. The student will use the watercolor sets for their self-portrait artwork. They will use the oil pastels for their Fauvism tree assignment where they color in trees unrealistic colors that reflect emotions.
The students will be able to create better artwork.
They will be able to get college credit by passing the AP Studio Art Drawing portfolio. These students can also use their artwork in portfolios for future jobs.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
