Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A class set of classic novels that my students might encounter on the AP English Literature exam will help engage my students in their outside reading skills. We will use these books for monthly free reading selections; I will have my students get together and discuss what they have read either through virtual book talks or in person. Students will use these titles to prepare for their essay in the free response section of the test--all of the requested materials have been on the exam five times or more, so they have been well-vetted by the College Board. This project should help my students expand their knowledge and hopefully allow them to gain a more worldly knowledge base through a fun experience. In addition, the books will be available in my classroom library to any other HMSA students looking for college-level reading recommendations.
