AP Language and Composition: Learn by DOING !!!

My students need 32 college level textbooks that are rigorous yet accessible. This text on rhetoric is modern, cutting edge, effective, and recommended by AP college board.

My Students

Bright minds need guidance, too! Bring light to AP students who are going to take college level course for HS and University credit (if they pass the test and class). A plethora of text + reading= a plethora of great, improved writing!

Juniors are excited to take the newest AP course on campus!

These students are from rural and suburban areas since we have the widest district in our state ranging over the most mileage in multiple counties. Low income, middle class, ELL, and privileged students coalesce to represent a diverse community and change the nation (and world) for the better.

My Project

The textbook I requested covers a range of authors from all backgrounds, ethnicity's, time periods, and themes. It also teaches what language is appropriate for when (rhetoric), while engaging students in college level instruction. Students will learn how to read (and understand) challenging texts, think critically for themselves, and express themselves through the written word. The writing activities in this book will lead the students to deepen their language skills in order to be productive in our constantly changing, democratic society.

Your donation will directly impact this year's AP Language and Composition class and future classes to come.

Our course will grow to multiple sections next year. I also plan to take students on field trips to urban areas with large universities and museums as inspiration for writing, thinking, and future living. You can make the change in the world with teens who are thirsty for knowledge and means to succeed.
