The students in this class are high achieving and motivated students. This is the first year that our building is offering an AP version of U.S. Government as an alternative to their regular education Government course. Given the rigor of the college board requirements I want these students to have as many possible resources available to them as I can. The AP test is a stressful and challenging environment so the materials that I want them to have are study resources to help them review the key ideas, people, court cases, and principles that will appear on their test. The students who have signed up for this course are working hard to get into top tier colleges and this course will help relieve the financial burden of college as they can get college credit if they do well on the AP exam this coming spring.
My Project
These materials are going to be used to help my students prepare for their AP Government and Politics that they will take at the end of the course. These resources will give my students additional practice tests, flash cards, essay prompts, and access to the documents that they will need to know in order to answer the AP test questions completely. The work books and flash cards will be used frequently by students to help them review for the test throughout the course. Given that this is a new course for our building we are building up this course from scratch so the more resources that I can arm my students with, the better prepared that they will be for a stressful testing environment.
