My students need 27 prep books to help ensure that they achieve the highest possible score they can on the English Language & Composition AP Exam.

My Students

We are a Title 1 school and funds are falling short to provide the best prep for this difficult exam. If 3s or better are achieved, college credit is awarded. In the past, prep books have helped 70% of the kids to achieve a 3 or better. Let's keep this % up!

My students are generally underprivileged, but are academically motivated and express a desire to go to the college of their choice and behave accordingly.

They probably really don't understand how competitive it is "out there," even though we are a small public school in the biggest city in the world.

My Project

These prep books are an amazing tool for these kids who do not have a lot of resources at their disposal. Many more wealthy districts provide students with such prep books and their parents can also afford to pay for tutoring and Kaplan courses. I have been teaching this course, in this district, for a number of years, both with prep books and without. It is shocking the difference in the number of students achieving that benchmark 3 using the prep books and those not achieving the 3 when the prep books were not used.

Achieving the 3 or better does wonders for a student's confidence when going to college.

Many of my former students have relayed this to me, grateful for what the class and the 3 gave them.
