This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my AP Calculus AB students are motivated to be successful on the AP Exam. They have polished their skills with all of the concepts introduced in the curriculum. Now they just need to practice how to read and correctly interpret what the AP Exam is asking them to do.
The practice problems from their textbook will straight up ask them to for example: "Find the derivative of the inverse at this given point," whereas the AP exam will insinuate that two given functions are inverses of each other, and ask them to find the derivative.
My students need help translating these problems into the Calculus they have already learned. That is what these workbooks: "5 Steps to a 5" can offer my students, the practice and confidence they need to be successful when taking the exam in May.
