Recently my students were required to take an assessment assigned by the district. Two of my Homeroom students had a missing computer and/or a missing power cable to be able to charge there low powered computer. With these two chrome books, I had the ability to get these two assessed during the designated time in homeroom. This way these students would not need to be pulled out of one of their academic classes to complete the assessment. This class set of computers was a real life saver for that situation.\r\n This academic year, students will be expected to spend 20 minutes completing an assignment or two on a computer, each week, so that they could improve their math or Reading skills. Having these computers in the classroom as back-up, is a real peace of mind. This way I will be able to keep more of my students on task, and building those skills they need to be successful in High School. Thanks again for your generous help.","fullyFundedDate":1746498673275,"projectUrl":"project/chromebooks-to-investigate-mathematics/9258304/","projectTitle":"Chromebooks to Investigate Mathematics","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Macias","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9999718_orig.jpg?crop=2227,2227,x1242,y1470&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744914826514","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9999718"},{"teacherId":9999718,"projectId":9257283,"letterContent":"I would like to thank all the donors that helped this project get funded. By adding the four TI-84 CE graphing calculators into my class rotation, I am able to get a more modern calculator into more of my students' hands, without them having to share. This way my students can get better acquainted with the calculators' functions. This year I got a big class of Honors Pre-Calculus, 37 students. I had to lend out my personal calculator, along with some dusty TI-83's. The new calculators have been a great help.\r\n With the new calculators, students have been able to verify their algebraic solutions, by tracing those solutions on the equations' graphs. They recently learned how to test if an equation/relation is a function by analyzing its graph. They have been evaluating functions, and the graphing calculator is the perfect tool to check the work they did by hand.\r\n There was also enough funding to get a charger pod that can charge 10 calculators, I can now charge 20 at a time. Which is nice, since my Pre-Calculus and AP Statistics students have been using the calculators so much, that I have to get their charge topped off quite frequently. I and my students greatly appreciate your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1746498673381,"projectUrl":"project/graphing-calculators-for-eager-learners/9257283/","projectTitle":"Graphing Calculators for Eager Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Macias","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9999718_orig.jpg?crop=2227,2227,x1242,y1470&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744914826514","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9999718"},{"teacherId":3774759,"projectId":9393576,"letterContent":"In our Ethnic Studies course, freshmen explore identity, racism, and social justice through stories. These books, given as an early Christmas gift, have made a significant impact on our students' academic success and engagement. The opportunity to receive a brand-new book as a reward for their dedication has not only encouraged a love for reading but has also reinforced the value of perseverance and resilience—key themes explored in Never Look Back. Since receiving the books, students from grades 9-12 have shown improvements in both academics and attendance, demonstrating how literature can inspire and motivate young minds.\r\n\r\nReading Never Look Back has sparked meaningful discussions in our classrooms about identity, trauma, and second chances. Students are developing critical thinking skills as they analyze the novel's themes and connect them to their own experiences. Many have been particularly drawn to the book's reimagining of Orpheus and Eurydice, engaging in thoughtful conversations about personal struggles and the power of hope. Some students who previously showed little interest in reading are now actively participating, proving that representation and relevant storytelling matter. One student even shared how the book helped them reflect on their own challenges and see the possibility of overcoming obstacles, just like the characters in the story.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made this possible, and we cannot thank you enough for believing in our students and the power of books. Your support has not only placed books in their hands but has also opened doors to deeper learning, self-reflection, and a lasting appreciation for literature.","fullyFundedDate":1730998664867,"projectUrl":"project/reading-is-fundamental-it-fuels-the-mind/8894541/","projectTitle":"Reading Is Fundamental It Fuels the Mind","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Santiago","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9798183_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729720832803","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9798183"},{"teacherId":9797203,"projectId":8864770,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity in providing funding for our attendance campaign.
