My students need these products to help understand the different levels of protein structure. The Amino Acid Starter Kits will be used to show students the four different levels of protein structure.
I teach Advanced Placement Biology, Living Environment, Chemistry Lab, and a new course of Biotechnology. My goal is to engage my students in learning so that these courses become a positive component of their high school experience. I would like students to learn how to be a scientist, not just about science. I like to give my students the must hands on learning experience as possible by doing different laboratory activities and different modeling activities. The students love getting their hands wet and learning by doing!
My Project
These kits will help students to visualize different levels of protein structure as well as the interactions between amino acids. Students will also be able to build segments of a protein for a specific gene. They will be able to see what different proteins look like in shape and size. The Biochemistry Molecule Kit will be advantageous to show students many different molecule that are in living organisms. Students can visualize a large chain of polymers versus a ring shape rather than just having to look at a picture in a textbook and are unable to visualize what it looks like in a cell.
