Help me give my students the gift of books. If we are continuing distant learning or are reading in the class it always helps to have the book in their hands.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Being a combination teacher of 4th and 5th grade students is not always easy, but I am very fortunate this year to have great students that are appreciative of those extras that I put into my lessons and engagement strategies. For the 2020-2021 school year I am teaching another combo, while looping my 4th graders to 5th grade. My students love listening to good books and having great discussions.
My Project
My students love a good read aloud. I teach a combo class and will be looping my 4th graders to 5th grade, so I am in need of some new books to my class. I love to have a class set of books, so each kids has a book in their hands. Students can follow along or go at their own pace. We have wonderful discussions as we read. Some students just need to know they can get through a book. If they read with me it builds their confidence and habit of having a book in their hands. This book is about a young girl that struggles and overcomes many obstacles to learn. This book helps the readers to connect their inner thoughts and fears or understand their classmates perspective.
