it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
For the past 27 years I have been teaching dance to students in grades K through 5 at a lower middle class school in the Bronx, NY.
I have always tried to stay current with the times and use new technology as much as possible. Therefore for the past decade or so I have been using CDs as my dance music. I recently was cleaning out a long forgotten closet, and I found boxes of records that I used to use in my classes. These records are great, with delightful songs which stirred up many pleasant memories of past performances with hundreds of students dancing before my eyes. However, when I went looking for the old record player, it was gone.
I would really love to be able to teach using the records that stood me in such good stead for so long. I know my kids would really enjoy the music and they would be fascinated by the "old" technology from the 20th century. Therefore, I am respectfully requesting a Califone Record Player for my dance class. It will be part of the teaching tools including tap and ballet shoes that I use daily.
