My Students

I am blessed to teach a phenomenal group of first-graders. These children are amazing at persevering and always doing their best.

My students live in a hard-working farming community.

They excel at helping each other and being encouraging. Our school is a K-8 building with just over one hundred students. We are a very close-knit group and our staff loves working together. We are always on the lookout for new, engaging teaching methods and resources for our students.

My Project

With so many textbooks and too much testing these days, my students need engaging, hands-on experiments during their school days. With this STEM kit, students will be collaborating in groups to solve problems.

When you were a student, did your most memorable learning come from textbooks or hands-on activities?

Almost everyone will answer hands-on learning, which is what the science kit will provide to the students. The problems will require critical thinking and cooperation skills.

Most importantly, they will teach my students important skills they will use throughout their life: communication, trial and error, and perseverance. I cannot wait to watch their creativity come to life through these materials!
