Help me give my students art supplies, journals, and books to work on anti-bullying and positive friendship lessons! All of the lessons they complete will be kept in the file folders for easy organization!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kids are determined, bright, and resilient. They face challenges head on and never ever give up. The kids I work with on a daily basis come from a variety of backgrounds. They often come to my office to take a break, re-focus, and return to class ready to learn. I strive to make my office a safe space where they can share their feelings, hopes, and dreams.
Funding this project will allow them to increase their social emotional skills, build friendships, and set them up for success later on in life beyond the classroom!
My Project
The materials requested for this project will allow my students to journal, draw, and read stories about being a good friend. It is my sincerest hope that this project will help them learn to be kind to others and value the differences we all have that make us unique.
Developing empathy in young children is crucial to reducing bullying behaviors in the classroom.
Empathy is a tough skill to teach, but with this project I know we can make a difference.
As the School Social Worker, it is my belief that every child deserves to feel safe and loved at school by not only their teachers, but by their peers as well. Funding this project will help me teach them the skills of empathy and treating each other with respect and dignity.
