My Project

I teach grades 9-12 in an inner city high school, and I love my students dearly! They each have such unique personalities and humors that they bring into my classroom. Many of them are quiet but with the biggest hearts you'll ever meet. The ones that aren't quiet, you can hear coming down the hall from a mile away. They kept me involved in their lives and they were always so polite whenever they join or leave my classroom for the day. I even still have my previous year's students popping in to say hi once a week!

In English class, it is a common trend to see students engaging in a text in some capacity for some amount of time.

Since I'll be joining the 10th grade team next year, the other teachers have provided their students with annotation kits. These kits are filled with pencils, highlighters, and post it notes for each student to use on an individual basis.

However, for many of our students, it isn't always feasible to bring their own supplies to class and we often share during our time together. This presents a new challenge for the coming school year. I don't want any of my students to be limited in class or feel like they can't participate because they don't have the right tools.

I'm requesting storage bins, sticky notes, erasers and more.

Each student will have their own designated pencil case with pencils, erasers, a highlighter, and post it notes.

The labels will be used to put their names on their own personal case and the crates will be used to keep them separated by class period.
