This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In every students' mind, there is a story that needs to be told. It can be simple as what's for lunch that day, to when they get to visit The Magical World of Harry Potter. As an art teacher, my lessons motivate them to tell their stories. Creative expression is important to my students.

Students at Rocketship Discovery Prep are college bound and hard working.

Kindergartners all the way to 5th grade change between classes. These classes include Literacy, Math, Art, Science, Health, Computer Lab and Physical Education. Their day starts at 8 am and ends at 4pm. It's a lot of work but the students truly enjoy it. They are taught by intelligent, compassionate, and creative teachers.

My Project

Creative Expression and Technology are the main visions. Most of our students have interests in video games, movies, and computers. The use of technology will help them gain practice and familiarity with computers. They will take pictures of drawings with the use of the stand, camera, and paper. Then upload the pictures to a computer. Then edit and combine the pictures to create animated shorts about their favorite stories on the computer.

Art will help our students at Rocketship Discovery become creative thinkers and find news ways to solve problems.

Eventually the students will think "outside the box". Students will be able to solve complex problems. This skill is useful for future engineers, programmers, world leaders and teachers.
