My students are fun-loving, enthusiastic scientists ready to take their learning to new levels! Our population is made up of a diverse group of learners from Queens, NY, including ENL students and special education students.
My goal is to continue multi-modal, project-based learning in my classroom, where my students perform their own scientific research, build models, and innovate solutions to the world's most pressing problems.
My students are some of the most creative young minds I have ever met, and are always ecstatic at the start of any new project I introduce to them. It is most important that my students understand how to apply what they are learning in the classroom to the real world. These projects, when funded, help make that learning goal realized day to day.
My Project
This project will allow students to sculpt an organism they invent and design during our biodiversity unit. They will justify all of its physical adaptations and design it according to the biome it lives in and challenges it faces in its environment. I’m excited to bring art into the science classroom with this fun and hands-on project!
Every year, student models and dioramas look amazing and it is only possible with this much needed clay.
So, thank you in advance for your generous support of this project. We appreciate it!
