My Students
Our third-grade students are innovative, ambitious, and eager to learn. Our school is located in a middle-class community with a high volume of parent support. We have a wide range of ethnicities, cultures, and learning styles.
Have you ever tried to memorize math facts, countries, the writing process or steps in an experiment?
This is extremely difficult for most. When you put music and movement in the mix, you now turn the seemingly impossible easier and you reach more, if not all ranges of students.
My Project
Drums Alive uses rhythm as the source of inspiration for a fitness experience. It also combines traditional fitness with brain-affected benefits of music and rhythm. Drums Alive fosters a healthy balance physically, mentally, emotionally and socially! Music combined with learning is proven to help students cognitive ability. I use music in all forms as I teach the core. It has reached all levels of learners.
"Excercise gives you endorphins.
Endorphins make you happy." Happy students learn! We all know the students coming into our classrooms are having some of their needs met. We see a lot of our students' emotional and mental needs not being met. With Drums Alive we can meet those needs in addition to physical and social while helping them learn and retain educational information.
