My Students
I teach in a Pre K-8 building, I teach grades 6 and 7. The goal in my classroom is to establish an educational environment that meets the needs of the whole child. Many students come to school not only to learn but also as a place of comfort and for many their only warm meal for the day. Many of our students fall below the poverty line, of which 40% are living in temporary housing. They are wonderful students who who are eager to learn.
My Project
Help me give my students a classroom printer. Most of our students do not have a printer at home and neither does our classroom. Our students need to wait days to be allowed to print in the school library. This is very inconvenient especially with deadlines looming and multiple classes given the same assignments. With a printer in our classroom, it will be extremely useful. Final drafts can be printed instantly and submitted. This printer will build momentum with our students knowing they will not need to schedule or awaiting time in the library for printing.
