Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I'm with a Special Needs, self-contained third grade. That's a mouthful and a handful. The children range from ADD, ADHD to Autistic, ED (Emotionally Disturbed) and Learning Disabled. Every day is a new beginning with these shining stars. They're amazingly curious and full of wonder. This world is a strange place and these little darlings are just beginning to find their place in it.
My Busy Bees are explorers, energetic, fun loving and even heady at times.
Some of them are on medication to control their impulsive behavior and outbursts. All of them hold the keys to my heart. I've got to reorganize and redirect their energy. It's difficult enough in the classroom; now, with this hybrid/ blended learning, style, they're struggling more than ever.
My Project
Due to the ongoing pandemic looming over us, the school system is unstable. We are constantly reproducing work for in person and remote learners. Packets of work and extra resources can be produced and delivered to the children in order to facilitate learning. At times books are lost or destroyed at home and we attempted to reproduce whatever material is needed. In an attempt to keep a constant flow between the in school and remote partnership extra paperwork is necessary and this laser printer will do the job and cut the cost of ink.
