My Students
I teach a delightful group of third graders who are kind-hearted and funny. As a whole group, we love anything STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) related.
These students come to school each day eager to learn about the world around them.
They want answers to their questions and would love more opportunities for them to do their own research. I would love to be able to provide them with more access to technology and information.
My Project
Our third grade classroom currently shares an iPad cart with two neighboring classes. It would be wonderful to have our very own devices for research and writing. I would love to see my students using dictation features; they can be very helpful tools for third grade writers who have SO MANY wonderful ideas.
The iPads in our shared cart are only slightly younger than my eight and nine-year old students.
These outdated models are acceptable for very basic functions only. The students are patient, but it would be great to work with newer, more capable and efficient devices.
