My Students
These items will allow our students to rebuild ancient architecture while working on following directions, working together, and practicing academic language. These projects will be used as an activity that will help students visualize the ancient architecture and all its splendor.
I work in Lowell, Massachusetts.
Our students are fantastic kids who come from very diverse backgrounds. One of our challenges we face daily is a very large language barrier. We welcome this challenge, and the staff and students work diligently to overcome challenges and find solutions to achieve success. Our school is a safe environment where the students come early and many stay late and take advantage of the many extra-curricular activities that teachers provide. The staff and students are passionate about learning and are always willing to go the extra mile to achieve our goals.
My Project
My students will use these activities as we navigate through ancient civilizations. These projects will be used as a classroom activities and as an after school activity. These will allow students an opportunity to create ancient architecture while learning about why they were built and the importance of each structure. These activities will go along with classroom readings, lectures, investigations and readings. It is a perfect way to have a visual to let students see what these buildings and structures looked like.
The project will allow me to have students stay in a safe environment after school that will deepen their knowledge about our curriculum for seventh grade Social Studies.
These activities will also be used as a tool to have students use academic language and work in small teams to achieve a common goal.
