Hello! I am a second grade teacher who teaches at a Title I school, and my classroom is in need of iPads to cultivate technological literacy. Being that my school's a Title I, the majority of the students that I serve live in poverty. However, regardless of my students' backgrounds and home situations, they do not let anything hold them back. They are energetic, creative, and intuitive!
It is my goal to provide my students with everything they need to be successful inside and outside of the classroom.
My students can do anything, and I wild anything to get them there!
My students love love love to read! They are always interested in both fiction and non-fiction books and cannot wait to share their book with teachers and friends. However, they struggle locating the books within our library that fit the topic that we are currently covering.
It is so important that students are constantly making connections from background knowledge to all subject areas.
These materials will give me the ability to display for my students the books that best fit the topics we are covering while also giving me the power to display the skill that we are working on.
The bookshelf will be updated weekly to match the skills that we are covering. Right now our books are organized by subject and interest. By pulling out the specific books that fit the current topic, I can get students excited to read these books and learn about the topics we are working on.
The easel will be an interactive focal point in all of our lessons. It will display all of the anchor charts that we create together. They will give students starting points in their reading and help provide purpose and strategies for my students while they read.
I love the joy my students bring to their reading and I know that this project will allow for them to grow even further!
