My Students

Our school is Title I and has a significant number of students from low-income households. I know every teacher probably feels this way, but I think I have the best kids in the world. They are sweet, kind, and oh-so-curious. They make it easy to get up and go to work in the morning!

My students are wiggle masters... no matter the time of day, they like to be moving in one way or another.

The only time of day they're willing to sit in one spot for more than 10 seconds at a time is during read aloud, where they absolutely love listening to stories.

My students are particularly interested in video games and technology, and they're often as proficient (or even more so!) than I am. They also have a passion for science, especially learning about animals.

My Project

This request is for 12 pads of anchor chart paper to be used for creating interesting, dynamic, and content-packed anchor charts. Anchor charts are a science-based approach to teaching that provide students access to information in dynamic ways that fit the differences in learning styles of each student -- differentiation is key!

I usually go through about 1 of these pads per month making charts for literacy and math, and 1 per quarter making charts for science and social studies.

These charts are an integral part of my students' learning and gives them a chance to take part in the charting process.
