This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every year, my kindergarten students come to school eager to learn how to read and write! This can be challenge for them as English Language Learners.
Shared reading and writing experiences are essential for my students to develop the necessary skills to become independent readers and writers!
We need chart paper, markers, notecards, sentence strips, and dry erase pockets so that students can be engaged daily in meaningful reading and writing activities during carpet time.
With these materials, I can demonstrate strategies that good readers and writers use. I can also guide my students as they practice foundational reading and writing skills.
