This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a 2nd grade teacher who is in love with her fun, loving, smart, energetic students. It is my goal to provide them with every opportunity to grow academically.
My school is a Title 1 school, where the majority of my students live in poverty.
It is my pleasure to show my kiddos that they are worth it. They are fun, energetic, and smart! Regardless of their home lives, these students are all equal when they step into my classroom.
As with every year, I hope that I am able to provide these children with everything they need to excel in and outside of school.
My Project
As a class, we spend a lot of time together learning at our group carpet. Anchor charts and graphic organizers are proven to help students in learning the material that is presented. This easel will allow us to come together to create and discuss.
Allowing students to have a hand in their learning helps to promote an environment of ownership.
Learning is enhanced when everyone has a hand in creating it. My students love working together as a whole group! Fresh paper and markers will help us to create documents that students can refer back to when they have questions.
