My Students

The students in my class are energetic five-and six-year-olds. They love to play to learn, and they learn best by seeing, hearing, saying, and doing things.

The students in my class don't always have the experiences other children do.

Most come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. They do not always have the experiences other children have.

I strive to give my students every opportunity to have fun and learn. I want them to love to learn and to start off their school years in a fun way.

My Project

My students and I create anchor charts for almost every skill I teach. We create charts for each letter sound. We build story maps for every story we study. We compare and contrast characters and stories. In math we create charts for each number to twenty. We use our anchor charts every day. They are a great way to review, as well as? help students who are struggling with specific skills

My students work together in teams and they frequently create their own anchor charts.

This skill of collaboration is one that will help them their entire lives.

Anchor chart paper is a vital tool in my classroom.
