My Students
Our students have found this school after having difficulties at traditional high schools. They need an alternative environment that meets their diverse needs, and the network of support that our school/district provide to our students. Now add in COVID-19 and virtual distance learning, my students need even more support than ever!
The best part of science class is the fun, hands-on projects, but with virtual teaching this has been a big challenge!
This project will help to provide resources that will help to engage students in thinkng like a scientist and increasing their ability to interact in the virtual world.
My Project
These markers, white boards, and anatomy resources such as the quick reference charts and workbooks will increase all students’ ability to quickly draw out a diagram, and use use colors to draw and label different part of the human body. This ability to "mess with" the material is lacking in the virtual learning world.
The ability for students to write a quick response on white boards, and then discuss ideas in small break out groups online will help make virtual learning more "real".
This engages the body/mind connection needed for meaningful learning opportunities.
