My Students

My eighth grade students are bright, energetic, and ready to learn. We are excited to be using or new Language Arts curriculum this year and hope that it includes some awesome novel studies to engage students .

The majority of students at my school come from low income families but have hope for a bright and successful future.

My eighth grade students are kind and helpful. They work hard in the classroom and show diligent work ethic as they do their best to get their assignments in on time.

Having supplies that are new and fun are a rarity for my kids. Help me to provide what they need to succeed!!!

My Project

Help students in their novel analysis by providing sticky notes! These will allow students to be able mark their page with the sticky in preparation for discussion. To stop and jot thoughts is a common study skill of successful students, unfortunately this supply is rarely purchased with budget money because they are seen as a waste.

Research has shown that students using sticky notes are able to pause and write their thoughts , which translates into better comprehension of text.

Students use of this simple supply will allow a scaffold approach to analysis that by the end of the year students will be able to transfer these skills to journals.
