This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love learning about animals and value seeing themselves reflected in the literature we read. By incorporating this book into our class, we will continue to foster empathy, celebrate diversity, and embrace the beauty of our differences. I plan to use this book to do a whole group novel study.
Once we finish reading, we will create a final class project in which students will give a presentation on the book that is related to our school theme this year "Choose Kindness." They will write a short reflection on what they learned from the protagonist and how they can apply it in their lives.
