This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love my students. They are some of the kindest, hardest-working kids I have had the pleasure to teach. One thing that they struggle with is organization. I plan to use AVID strategies in class next year including the use of binders. Since we are a Title I school, most of my students come from low-income households. While many of them with do their best to get a binder, they have a supply list from all their teachers, and it adds up fast.
Providing my students' binders reduces the financial burden while providing a level playing field since all will have them from day one.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
