Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our class motto is "Try our best...and nothing less!" My students have a love for learning that is indescribable, and it is my goal to help them achieve any goals they set for themselves.

The school in which I work at has a smaller population and the majority of students are from a low socioeconomic status, which includes free/reduced lunch and breakfast.

Although my students do not have many resources at home, I have tried my best to create a classroom environment in which my students can immerse themselves in learning. My students are loving, caring, and most importantly excited and eager to learn new things.

My Project

From the moment my students walk in the door and hang up their backpacks, I must be ready to go! The most important part of our day is "Guided Reading." This is when I get to work with students in small groups while the rest of the class is practicing skills in stations. With the help of these teaching cart and tabletop chart center, I can make sure students have what they need and there is no time wasted trying to find things throughout the classroom. When students have to look for things, that is time taken away from learning essential skills.

I have the best job in the whole world.

I get to watch my first graders bloom into young readers and writers from the first day of school to the last. The best part about being a teacher is when I see the smiles on my students' faces because they are proud of themselves and their progress. These tools will not only enhance their learning time but also teach them the importance of staying organized.
