My Students
Aloha, I am a first-year teacher in Maui, Hawaii. I teach 22 energetic third graders. My school is a Title I school, and many of these students come from low-income families, with free or reduced-price lunch. Hawaii is known as a melting pot for all ethnicities, and my classroom consists of a diverse community of learners.
As a first-year teacher, I am eager and excited to join my students on this learning journey and look forward to many accomplishments.
Please help me make this first year amazing by donating supplies to my classroom. I know my students will appreciate it when they walk in and see how amazing it looks!
My Project
Going into my second year of teaching, I know that I need to become more organized. This past year, there were so many papers on my desk and in my drawers that it was hard to do so. I also have binders full of printed materials that need to be sorted out into different subject areas and topics. With these items, I hope to be able to organize my paperwork and classroom this year so that I don't go crazy looking for everything!
Having an organized classroom is important to both the students and teacher.
With the easel, poster paper and magnetic whiteboard, I want to create colorful anchor charts that can be utilized during whole and small group instruction. Having visuals that students can refer back to during independent time is very important in the classroom.
Since I have implemented flexible seating and students are able to choose a new seat every day, I have trouble remembering where students sit. With the velcro dots, students will be able to take their nametags with them every day and stick it on their spot for the day. Please help me stay organized during the school year!
