Help me give my students a new book shelf with bright containers to hold book series.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Claffey's classroom raised $870

My Students
There are 220 students at MES from grades PK to 5. It is a true community school, where 90% of our students are within walking distance to the school. As a result, a strong community relationship has been formed between the school and its community.
85% of students are at the poverty level.
It is a minority-majority school with the three most populous groups being black, Hispanic and white. Many of our students come to school having experienced some sort of traumatic experience. Our students, like all students, need and want to be loved. They thrive with routines and consistency. We provide that for them.
My Project
Selecting a book to read for pleasure is sometimes a challenging task for a reluctant reader. When books are on display and organized, it makes the process a little easier.
When a student steps foot into their new classroom for the first time, the library should catch their attention.
It should be neatly organized and filled with a variety of books, especially books from different series.
Often times the furniture in classrooms is the last thing to be considered. Providing a space for students that is fresh and up to date goes a long way in creating a welcoming environment.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
