Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We want to be our BEST! In our short time together that is a phrase we keep repeating in our class. We have 32 little bodies overflowing with excitement and a need to learn. Thirty-two wide eyed, smiling faces trusting me to help them reach their best.
These second graders know it's important to work hard and make sacrifices but, there should be no sacrifices in our classroom.
My second graders deserve a bright, warm, welcoming environment that will keep them motivated to come to school and BE THEIR BEST!

My Project
Our daily learning revolves around our classroom carpet. We start the day meeting on our carpet and going over our goals for the day. From there, students come to the carpet for phonics, reading, writing, math, science and social studies.
We spend more time on the carpet than any other place in our class.
Recently, the current carpet suffered an unfortunate accident leaving us needing a new one. The carpet I chose will provide an area for math support and interactive education-based play in math, a focus area for our grade.
Classroom carpets are expensive but extremely useful and necessary!
