Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I greet them daily with a good morning and a hug. I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything.
My scholars are bright and energetic!
I would like to make my classroom as inviting and warm as possible. This is where we spend each day so it is our second home. Our school is one big family. We look out for each other and are always willing to give a helping hand. In our class, it's okay to make mistakes, as long as we learn from them. We say please and thank you and always remember to be polite. We can't control what others say but how we react to it. It is okay to get upset, but not okay to hurt others. We give respect to earn respect and we treat others how we want to be treated. I am very fortunate because I am able to go to work every day to students who are my world.
My Project
My class loves to read! We are reading so much, we are running out of books to read. Although, I have an awesome classroom library, we need more! So we are deciding to read entire series of books. We are asking for the entire series of books like Dog Man, Captain Underpants, and Wimpy Kid, to name a few. We also learn about money in 2nd grade and how we can save it. These books on financial literacy can help my students see the importance of saving money.

Each year my goal is to instill a love of reading in my students. Reading will take you far in this world and I want my students to be the best! So by fulling this project, we are helping the adults of the future have a love of reading.
