An iPad To Go With Our Apple Pencil

My Students

My students are energetic and excited little five and six-year-olds. These little people are just beginning their educational journey. They are curious and enthusiastic learners. It is my goal to provide them with every opportunity, so they can find joy and success at school.

We live in a small, rural community that is high poverty.

The main source of income for our community is a paper mill that is always on the verge of closing. Life in our community is unpredictable. The opportunities that are offered to my students are few.

Our school district tries so very hard to provide the students with every advantage that it can, but I know there is more for them out there. They want to learn and explore, and I want them to love school and get excited for the next twelve years of it!

My Project

This school year has been one continuous change after another. In trying to learn new technology with my kindergartners, I did a DonorsChoose.org project for an Apple Pencil. I was so excited when it got funded and we received it in the mail today! My excitement changed to extra stress when I realized that it wasn't compatible with any of the iPads that we currently have in our classroom. After doing research this iPad is one that will work with our new pencil.

I am excited for the opportunities that this iPad will offer my students with our new Pencil.

I am hopeful that having current technology will encourage and excite my students to continue learning and exploring through these new and strange times.
