Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in one of the largest urban districts in the country. It is a high poverty school. I teach students with diverse backgrounds but in every student, I see the potential of becoming better human beings through the power of music making.
Some of my students have special needs and music class is a wonderful opportunity for them to express themselves in a happy, safe, and caring environment.
Some of these students require specific accommodations and this is why I need your help to support our Music Technology project. My classroom does not have a single iPad! Nowadays that there are so many music technology resources available, having access to tablets is a huge need in my classroom.

My Project
In music classes, my students sing, play and also learn how to read, write and compose music. An Ipad in our class would allow students to learn music theory through engaging games, and compose their own music!
An iPad in the classroom will allow students with special needs to have differentiated instruction.
Sometimes the "noise" of a normal music class is too much for students in the Autism spectrum to bear. Through access to iPads these students can learn and practice at their own pace and with confidence,
My class has zero iPads! Please help us getting our first one!
