My Students
My students face many obstacles and one of them should have to be obesity! By embracing technology and giving our students access to use it will help motivate and give them immediate feedback.
My student population is very diverse and highly impoverished.
Our school is a public K-8 school in Philadelphia. We have a large ESL population that also includes refugees. I have been at this school for 12 years now and like it because of the diverse student population!
My Project
By using the iPad during Physical Education and Health class the students will be able to record their Presidential Fitness Challenge data. When the students are able to input their data immediately they become more accountable and responsible for their fitness goals. Students take part in fitness testing multiple times throughout the year. We could also use the iPad as a way to play music and motivate the students in a variety of activities. Also, the iPad could be used as a great resource for Health class and allow videos or Prezi presentations to be projected up for the class to watch.
I believe this would greatly benefit my students and the quality of their educational experience.
