This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarten students are full of joy, excitement, and an eagerness for learning. I have so much fun teaching and learning with them. Our school is 92% economically disadvantaged and 79% English Learners. My class is a diverse mix of students, including English Learners, students receiving special education services, gifted and talented students, and students from around the world.
My students have unique personalities, yet they're all very sweet and caring toward others.
Thank you in advance for helping me provide the best educational experience for my very deserving students.
My Project
My students LOVE learning with iPads. At 5-6 years-old, most students can expertly navigate an iPad. A new iPad will allow my students to learn at their independent level during center or computer time. One app they use for individualized math development is Dreambox. This program has helped my students continue to grow in math at their own pace and develop excellent number sense. We will also use the app- BrainPop to watch science videos on various topics, and complete interactive activities.
While students are learning at their own pace on the iPads, I will be able to work with small groups, especially with students in need of extra support.
My students would be so excited to receive a new iPad, as I mentioned, it is one of their favorite learning tools.
