This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a variety of students that I work with from kindergartners who are experiencing music for the first time to 5th graders who are just starting to learn how to put a piece of music together. Some are fluent in English, while others are learning it. Some of my students also just love to play, move and dance along to various music.

No matter what grade they are in or their ability to learn the lesson they all take great enjoyment in all the music lessons provided.I'm all about providing the best music education program I can offer these wonderful students through out the year.

My Project

All of my students love to use a variety of instruments during class. However, I find that I do not always have enough for each child to have their own, causing them to have to share or wait to try something new. While I do not have a problem asking them to share sometimes we run out of time and they lose their chance as a result. Some of my instruments are also either old or cheaply made and are falling apart leaving me even fewer instruments for my students to use.

These new instruments will allow my students the chance to have their own instrument to use in class, ensuring they will have ample time to be creative with many different instruments during class.

I love having the opportunity to present different instruments to my students each week and they in turn have found different ways to express themselves musically.
