Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I can tell my students about the world, or I can use an Epson PowerLite 96W Projector to show it to them. With this high-quality projector, I will be able to present educational videos, images, and other content to my students and thereby enrich their learning in a lasting, powerful way!
I generally teach a very diverse group of students with cultural roots all over the world.
This year, twelve (12) of my students were English learners. Most of my students come from working class families. My students' families provide them with the essential tools that they need for learning and with nurturing homes. However, many of my students do not have much access to technology outside of our classroom.
My Project
An Epson PowerLite 96W Projector will allow me to show my students the world instead of just telling them about it. With it, I will be able to present images of vocabulary words to help them learn and discuss the words. I will be able to show BrainPop video clips from my iPad to introduce new content to them. By connecting it to our document reader, I will also be able to model step-by-step how to perform numerous skills, including essay writing, note taking, and math problem-solving strategies. Using Skype, the projector will allow us to take virtual field trips to NASA and the national parks, as well as learn and work collaboratively with others outside of our local community.
An Epson PowerLite 96W Projector is a tool for universal access.
In a classroom with 25 students, seeing is essential for learning and this projector will make sure that every student can see what I present, no matter where they sit. The projector will be an asset to our classroom and replace our old projector, which has served us well, but has failed to work on several occasions over the last few months.
