An Eye to the World

My students need a projector to open the doors to the world around them. I can connect this to my computer and use it much like a starboard.

My Students

My students are energetic first graders with open minds and hearts. Since my classroom does not have the technology of a smartboard this would be the next best thing to open their eyes to the world around them.

I work with 6 and 7 year Olds in the city of Philadelphia.

We are located in the Olney section of Philadelphia and all of the children I service live in poverty. This in itself is a hardship but it does not deter their mind or spirit. My students are eager to learn and to grow and though this is not the latest and greatest in technology it is a piece of equipment which I would be able to use no matter what age I teach. These students deserve the best and I am hoping that people will believe in my students and my teaching ability.

My Project

The projector will be used much like a smart board. I will project the video or document on the whiteboard and it will allow the students to interact in the classroom. I can use the projector to show them the world around them and open their eyes to the many mysteries of the world by connecting my computer to the projector and creating documents, educational you tube videos, and many other activities.

It's simple.

Presently I have a black board which is fine, but difficult for students to see everything. With the projector I can use it much like an overhead projector - projecting an image that students can see easily. They can then use a whiteboard to interact with the image. Also, by connecting my computer to the projector we can observe wild life, science, cultures, and possibly do Skype in a way which would benefit all the students in the classroom.
