An Epson Document Camera to Master Algebra Using Visuals
My students need an Epson document camera to enhance math instruction by displaying math concepts visually.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever struggled with math? My students all struggle with learning disabilities, and have particular difficulty with processing auditory information. This can make it very difficult to teach math concepts, particularly algebra. I hope to use the Epson document camera for visual supports.
I am a Resource Teacher at a Title I school in Southern California.
As a Resource Teacher, I work with students with various disabilities who are not where they need to be academically in various subjects, including math and algebra.
Our school's classification as a Title I school means that a vast majority of our students, including most who I teach live in poverty, and don't have access to resources such as this one at home.
In addition to disabilities and lack of resources at home, many of my students also come from households in which English is not spoken as a primary language.
Due to these many challenges, it's extremely important that my students get the very most they can out of each and every minute that they spend at school. The Epson document camera will allow me to enhance math instruction by using visual models and examples to explain math concepts.
My Project
There are so many ways that visuals can be used to enhance math instruction. These visual supports enhance instruction by using concrete visual examples for what are otherwise rather abstract concepts.
By incorporating these visuals into my math instruction (using an Epson document camera), I am confident that my students will be better able to learn and reach proficiency with math concepts, including algebra and geometry.
Math does not need to be a struggle for students.
On the contrary, with the use of dynamic teaching strategies, such as visual examples for abstract concepts (through the using an Epson document camera), I believe that my students who struggle with math can thrive!
By donating to this project, you will have a direct and profound impact on helping a struggling learner to better understand and master math concepts!
Thank you for your help and support!
