An Enriching Classroom Environment

My Students

All of my students are English language learners. They are a very diverse group, from all over the world. All students in my classroom have had different exposure to schooling and education. Some students have never been in a real classroom before, others went to private schools in their mother country. Some are learning how to read and write for the first time, while others are working on perfecting their grammar and vocabulary in English.

We not only focus on learning English, but also learning about the culture, customs, and traditions in the U.S.

We strive to bridge the educational gap, and transition students to mainstream classrooms.

I believe education is the great equalizer, even in an urban school such as ours. Giving students the tools they need to succeed can be the difference between them graduating or dropping out.

My Project

I continue to gather materials and tools to equip my classroom and make it enriching, interesting and fun for students. By having a cabinet with locks I will be able to safely and properly store materials and supplies. I also need bulletin paper roll, posters, and other materials to cover the chipped blackboards and walls. In addition, these visuals will teach students about a growth mindset and will make the classroom more welcoming.

Students will be learning in an environment that not only promotes educational growth, but also impacts the way they approach life in-and-out of school.

English Language Learners will be further supported with visuals and information to further develop skills, such as positive thinking and self care.
