An Engaging Way to Learn Foundational Literacy Skills

My Project

My goal is to implement literacy resources that support foundational literacy skills in children at the elementary level. Students need to know phonemic awareness and phonics skills in order to be efficient readers. The Science of Reading has taught us how essential this work is to all readers. However, teachers are often missing the tools needed to support this work.

These tools will support students in the area of literacy in an engaging way.

Research shows that multi-modal teaching is essential in order to ensure we are teaching effectively and students are achieving at the highest levels. Students learn in many different ways and these tools support multiple styles of learning styles so all students can access instruction. This will provide equitable teaching and learning so all students an achieve at the highest levels.

These literacy tools will also provide students with the confidence to engage in learning tasks. Struggling readers often shut down and avoid. These tools will allow them to do this work in a fun, engaging way.
