An Engaging Space to Inspire Diverse Students to Explore/Create!

My Students
My students are awesome! I have an extremely diverse population of students. I teach Art 1 and have about one hundred fifty students total.
What makes my school unique is the international students.
Students coming to the United States from foreign countries living in Cincinnati are enrolled at my school. My students are from many different areas of the world Nepal, Guatemala and Africa just to name a few. Students work hard everyday learning to speak English and adapt to their new environment. They love culture and art and I love letting them experience it in my art room.
My Project
I am very excited about these materials. I would love to create a space within our classroom that allows students performing at different levels and representing different cultures to come together, finding a common interest.
The HP ink will be used so that students can print off inspirational photographs to help them create a vision to aid in their creations.
The easels will then promote independence and creativity. The glue gel and chalk can be used for projects the students have begun, but will extend in this space.
I am thrilled to get the embroidery hoops. They are such a big help with students who may not have the fine motor skills to create projects using these otherwise. The black Indian ink will be immediately utilized to introduce calligraphy.
Giving them a space to visit that will spark their curiosity, enhance their skills and allow for art exploration is very important to me and to their engagement and interest in visual arts. This project will positively impact our awesome classroom community! Thank you!
