An Empty Room, Unlimited Potential: Help Fill Our ABA Classroom
Help me give my students different items that allow for them to explore their feelings, sensory needs, access general curriculum, and explore high interest toys while learning.
I am a first-year teacher at the JLS in MA. I am starting in a preschool ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) classroom that serves students with autism and other developmental needs. My students are energetic, curious, and full of potential. They learn best through hands-on, sensory experiences and structured routines that support communication, emotional regulation, and independence. The light covers are especially important as I have a student that is very sensitive to the harsh light in the classroom. Unfortunately, I’m walking into a pretty empty classroom with very few supplies — limited toys, books, sensory materials, and dynamic furniture designed for early learners. I’m working hard to create a warm, welcoming space where my students can feel safe, supported, and excited to learn every day. This project will help me build a foundation for our classroom. With your help, I hope to provide sensory tools, fine motor activities, early learning materials, and some classroom basics. These materials will allow me to provide meaningful, individualized instruction while supporting my students' sensory and communication needs. Having a well-equipped classroom will make a world of difference — not just for learning, but for my students’ sense of comfort and belonging.
As a new teacher, I’m grateful for any help in giving my students the start they deserve.
