My Students

I have a whole classroom full of active kindergartners and boy are they eager to learn. They are a diverse group. Some students entered my classroom with special needs and others are ready to learn to read. Some students come to school with no school supplies and others come with fully loaded backpacks. We do not have any specialist or teaching assistants at my school. I am responsible for teaching all of the subjects to all of my students everyday. I want to provide them with the most exciting learning environment possible this year. I want to take them from very nervous dependent learners to confident independent learners.

My Project

I have been using iPads in my kindergarten classroom for the past 8 years. Unfortunately some of them are breaking and need to be replaced. The technology standards now require my students to be able to log on and word process. Currently we are only allotted 50 minutes a week to visit the school computer lab. This is just not enough for 5 year olds, this needs to be taught in a small group setting in the classroom. Hence, I now need keyboards for my students to use to turn their iPads into a computer.
