This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is filled with students who want to read. Unfortunately, not all of them are given the opportunity to read a book and have an engaging conversation with their peers. In our 2nd/3rd grade book club, students get just that chance! These avid readers enjoy a good "creepy" book like Eerie Elementary. We meet to set our reading goals, choose our activities, and preview the book with each other. Students then take the Eerie Elementary book home with them to read. Two weeks later, we meet again to have interesting conversations, participate in hands-on activities, and trivia games all related to our book. One of the best parts of this book club is each student gets to keep the book!
