Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have had the joy of teaching kindergarten and now first grade. For the past 19 years, these kiddos have inspired me to be the best teacher and person that I can be. I am absolutely dedicated and passionate about what I do. I could not imagine doing anything else. A lot of my students have been through some hard times. I teach at a Title I school where the poverty rate is above 70%. Our school provides free breakfast and lunch for all students. We also have a high transience and homeless rate. Yet these kiddos come to school every day, ready to learn, and be the best they can be.

Every day, I strive to provide my students with engaging and creative lessons, and experiences they will remember forever.

My students range from preschool level to second grade level. I am always looking for new ways to differentiate and challenge my students.

My Project

One of the greatest influences that we have on students in today's classrooms is the way that we make them feel about education. This is something that will forever shape their future as a learner. Get Your Teach On helps you create this magic in your classrooms. It's not just professional development. I am requesting funds for lodging to this conference. I have already received funding for the conference.

This training will be an educational experience that will leave me inspired, motivated, and empowered to create the same experience for my own students.

These best practices will increase my students desire to learn, amp up the academic rigor, and challenge them to think beyond the standards!
